BUZZTOWN’S PRIVACY POLICY

          BuzzTown is committed to protecting the privacy of information you provide, unless such information is posted publicly on the BuzzTown website by you.  The passage below explains BuzzTown’s Privacy Policy.  By using the BuzzTown website and service, including but not limited to, the BuzzTown business directory, business profiles, business reviews, forums and chats, you thus agree to this Privacy Policy’s terms and conditions.  This Privacy Policy constitutes part of, and is incorporated by reference into, the Terms of Use Agreement.
          In order to provide you with products and services for which you register or apply, we need to collect your personal data.  This need arises, for example, when you register as a member or when you buy our products.  In addition, we collect some non-personal information for the purposes of observation.  The Privacy Policy explains when we need to take such information, what kind of information it is, how it is used, the security of your information, and possible third-party use of such information.


When and What Information Is Collected

          We need to receive your personal data, which includes, but is not limited to, your full name and e-mail address, in order to register you as a BuzzTown member or to provide you with services and/or products you are requesting as a BuzzTown member.  We may also need credit card information from our business members (who pay for advertising) in order to pass this information on to our e-commerce provider (see “Third Party Use” below) and to respond to billing and other questions.  For the purpose of statistical collection and analysis and to help us evaluate and modify existing services and develop new services, we may collect some non-personal information, which includes, but is not limited to, OS type, browser and referral source.
          BuzzTown uses cookies in conjunction with the BuzzTown website, to store information on your local computer.  These cookies do not contain any of the information you have entered while registering or making payments; they serve only to maintain your login status.  Your e-mail address is used only for confirming your registration details and password (and for sending new passwords should you forget your current one) and for other BuzzTown communications you authorize.


Use of Information

          BuzzTown will use all the information collected from members solely for the purpose of providing specific services or products or for informing on events happening in the BuzzTown or local community or for statistical purposes.  We will not send you e-mail unless you have joined as a member or otherwise requested to be sent notifications.  We will not commercially use, sell or give your information to any third parties except as required by law and as described below under “Third Party Use.”


Security

          BuzzTown will apply maximum efforts to guard the security of information provided by BuzzTown members.  However, BuzzTown takes no responsibility and bears no liability for such information becoming available to a third party as a result of unauthorized access beyond our control.  Please refer to Terms of Use Agreement, Section 15, “Limitation of Liability,” describing the limitations on BuzzTown’s liability to you for any cause whatsoever.  Further, members shall understand that by posting personal information on forums and making such information public, they do so at their own risk.  BuzzTown holds no responsibility for misuse of information posted by members.  You should not post any information that you would not want someone else to know.


Third Party Use

          As an exception to our general policy not to share your information to third parties, BuzzTown has the right to pass some of your personal information to a third party operational service provider or vendor if it is necessary for providing services or products requested.   Possible recipients include, but are not limited to, an e-commerce provider of BuzzTown such as Authorize.net.  As soon as the information is given to this third party, it is subject to the third party’s privacy policy and BuzzTown bears no liability or responsibility for any breach of the third party’s privacy policy.  Currently, our e-commerce provider is Authorize.net.  For the privacy policy of Authorize.net, please visit this link.


Amendments

          BuzzTown retains the right to amend any part of this Privacy Policy.  BuzzTown will inform members and users on such changes via the BuzzTown website, by posting there the amended and augmented version.
