Description

We're going to have a Carrotmob in Durango!

If you don't know what Carrotmob is:
Businesses compete with one another to see who can do the most good, and then a big mob of consumers buys products in order to reward whichever business made the strongest commitment to improve the world. It’s the opposite of a boycott.

It’s easier to understand if you look at an example. In the first ever Carrotmob event, a liquor store agreed to invest in upgrades that made their store more energy-efficient. In exchange, hundreds of Carrotmobbers showed up at once to support the winning liquor store. Here's a video of that campaign, and the mayhem that ensued:

The Carrotmob will be going to Stonehouse Subs, 140 E. 12th St. in Downtown Durango all day on October 24th (350.org's International Day of Climate Action). Show up between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and enjoy some fun and entertainment.

Thanks! We're only a day or two away from closing the bidding, and it's down to Guido's or an anonymous sandwich shop... We're up to 30%! Will post here when we know who the winner is -- hope to see you there!

Thanks Ciego! We have 3 companies bidding and will close the bidding by Thursday. No matter what happens, there will be something yummy to buy on 10/24 and you'll be helping the environment. Hope you can join us!
