“Trees and Root Beer are the Answer!” a tree-planting project, whose goal is to establish and expand the Pete Harter Arboretum at Needham Elementary School, will hold a fundraising dinner at Carver’s Restaurant on Thursday February 9th from 4:00PM until closing. Supportive community members may enjoy all items off the entire menu in addition to the showcased specials of Root Beer Braised Ribs and of course, Root Beer Floats. Carver’s Restaurant will generously donate a percentage of proceeds from the night’s sales.
The popular “Trees are the Answer!” bumper stickers – 2012 version – are now available for purchase at Carver’s, as well as at Maria’s Bookshop and Needham Elementary School.
The Pete Harter Arboretum was established with seven trees in 2011 with financial assistance from Colorado Tree Coalition, Durango School District 9R, City of Durango, and several businesses and nonprofit organizations. The “Trees are the Answer” project has a mission to continue to plant trees and conduct educational programs at the Needham Elementary School campus.
