Best Hole-in-the-Wall In all of Southwest Colorado
If its pretentious Durango you wish to escape, there are few better refuges than the Billy Goat Saloon. Seek comfort in affordable beers and down-to-earth conversations. Leave politically correct at the door and just sit down and have a beer in the dim, smoke-scented candor.

Big Bar with a mixed crowd
The Billy Goat sits in Gem Village off of 160, and I think it was voted one of the best biker bars in America. It certainly is convenient for anyone to just pull off the highway to grab a cold one. It's a large cavernous bar with a juke box and cheap drinks. It is a perfect music venue, and I'm surprised that not more bands play at this place. The crowd is mixed with your hardcore, everyday drinkers, and a younger crowd.
