PREFACE: Elizabeth recently purchased a 1,000 sq.ft. downtown condominium that she chose to upgrade with a Cobalt pre-wire package. She knew eventually she would want a whole house audio system and was given that system as a gift for Christmas. While she was at work, Cobalt was able to install the speakers and music server, load some of her music on the system and cleaned up her unit before she returned home. Review: "The music was wonderful, the system is exactly what I wanted and now I am talking to Cobalt about iPod stations, surround-sound system and XM satellite feed. They do such a good job, are active participants and supporters in our HBASC and I can afford them." Elizabeth Salkind, Executive Officer Home Builders Association of Southwest Colorado (HBASC)

Homeowners can use their Cobalt Automation systems to do just about anything. The entertainment setting can switch the lights to preset illuminations, tune the satellite radio to a favorite station, adjust the TV to the right volume and channel. You can program the system to suit personal preferences and enhance a home's livability.

All of my clients can bring their homes into the 21st century through Cobalt's automation. There are some green benefits in terms of energy consumption by having lights and thermostats automated. Home automation adds value, security, ease of controlling and integrating all your systems.

Swipe a card key to enter and you've signaled the system to go into open-for-business mode. The shades go up, lights turn on, temperature readjusts, and the stereo goes to a preset station and volume. At the end of the day, swipe again, and everything returns to closed mode, including activation of surveillance and security. You can even cue the exterior lights to stay on for a few minutes so you can get into your car safely. How cool is that? Christopher Marona, President, Marona Photography

Before engaging an architect for their second home, many people spend time on Internet research. As a result, they know something about home automation. It's my job to steer them toward affordable options. By integrating Cobalt Automation Systems into the plans early, we can shield the wires from electrical interference and avoid structural obstacles. Michale Bell, Principal, RM Bell Architects

Our clients recognize the advantages of home automation from Cobalt in terms of energy, security, convenience and just a nicer living environment. More often than not, they start with a basic system. Once they see the easy-to-use touch screens and integration of all the mechanics, they end up upgrading. Troy Dyer, Vice President of Dyerbilt Construction

To me, it isn't technology, just simplicity. We laugh about it, but how many times do you get out of bed to turn off the kitchen lights, shut the garage door or turn on the alarm because you forgot earlier? This system allows you to push a button and shut down the house--or turn it on in the morning. A Cobalt Automation system isn't something you hve to learn to master or be computer literate to use. It's easy, foolproof and boils everything down to a simple touch screen. Doug Simonson, President of Classique Development
