This was our first attempt to train a puppy. And it was a great experience! Julie and Sam are fun, professional, expert teachers and trainers. We will attend again and again.

I would like to submit an interesting story regarding my experience with Julie and all of the wonderful trainers at Alpha Canine Academy: Last weekend a friend stopped over with her beautiful Aussie, he was 15 months old and has socialization issues, she recently had a lesson with a trainer in Durango and wanted her money back because she left the lesson even more confused with an out of control and barking dog. Coincidentally, that previous Friday I had a private class with Julie, at Alpha Canine Academy, my problem was, when my dog was on a leash or in the truck, he became overly anxious and barking when he saw another dog, this was a sudden change. At Alpha Canine I had attended "Basic Obedience" and "Around Town" classes, as a result, Sawyer (my Doberman) passed his test and was awarded his "Good Citizen Certificate" Fortunately I was able to tell her of my rewarding experience with Alpha Canine and my recent dilemma with Sawyer. For an hour I met with Julie, owner and trainer, at least 30 minutes was asking me an array of questions, some of which I was not sure of the importance, the last of the hour were some of the most astonishing conclusions followed by some very common sense instructions. Inspired and excited, I drove straight to the Durango River Path and had, for the first time, a delightful walk with my best friend, Sawyer. I felt so confident that I purposely found dogs to test him with, by the end of our walk Sawyer was proudly walking past any dog that came by and I'm sure the owners were confused with the smile plastered on my face. Training is a must for dog and owner, most don't realize it's 20% for the dog and 80% for the human, more importantly you have to do your research!. Only Certified Trainers, which is all you will find at Alpha Canine Academy, are qualified to develop your dog and you into a loving and respectful relationship. Julie is and has always been there when I needed a phone "quick fix" or a conference in person. With the help of Alpha Canine I have been able to communicate with Sawyer and because of that he has become a wonderful friend and companion. Sandy Witek and Sawyer

Julie has done wonders with my Golden Retriever puppy. He has improved in general obedience so much. And I have learned a lot as well. I highly recommend Alpha Canine Academy!

Julie and her team are the best. From basic obedience through individual training for problem behavior and tricks, she can do it all in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended, your pets will thank you for it!

I have done business with Julie twice in the past. The things I've seen her do with dogs is amazing! She took a dog that was afraid of his own shadow, and gave him a great life! Highly recommended!!
