How we took something bad and turned it into something good.
Sometimes a bolt of lightening can take a bad situation and turn it into something good. For example, some friends and clients of mine own a custom motorcycle shop in Ignacio (Moon's Custom Cycles). Seems that a local nonprofit and Moon's came up with a fund-raising idea to raffle a custom motorcycle off in conjunction with Ignacio Bike Week. Moon's was to provide the bike and some of the promotion. The nonprofit would sell the raffle tickets. My friends would sell a motorcycle (at a special price) and the nonprofit would gain some needed funds. Then after tickets were all printed, photos of bike with model shot, promotional materials designed, things unraveled. (Why is unimportant.) All that money would be lost. One of the designs was for a big banner to be used wherever the tickets were to be sold. While the banner had been designed, we were able to stop before it was printed. This is where the lightening bolt idea came in. Let's take the artwork, rework it a little and make a souvenir poster to sell at Ignacio Bike Week. While they may not make a bunch of money selling posters, at $5.00 each they will come out in the black. Besides that, the poster will promote their custom motorcycle building. You can see how the banner morphed into a poster.
