About Therapeutic Experiences
Description
Therapeutic Experiences (TherEx), an Equine Assisted Learning and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy company based in Durango, CO, offers experiential therapy and skills-learning programs designed for young people, couples, and families.
Their Equine Assisted Group Learning and Empowerment (EAGLE) program teaches team building and leadership skills to groups such as businesses, organizations, agencies, and athletic teams. Their horses can be used as a basic part of elementary school through high school curricula which teach character values to students, especially those considered "at-risk".
The therapy and skills-learning programs work because horses are large powerful animals which are easily used as metaphors for what we perceive are enormous problems in our lives. They teach us to recognize danger, to set boundaries and to balance being calm with being assertive as they always give useful, honest feedback.
Since 2005, Therapeutic Experiences has been dedicated to empowering and helping the lives of people through the use of experiential learning with our equine friends.
