Grand Junction, Colo. – In an effort to gather public input and feedback regarding the 2012-2013 budget cuts facing the district, Mesa County Valley School District 51 has created and launched an online Community Budget Survey. All community members, staff, parents and students are encouraged to take the survey as a way to voice their opinion on the possible reductions that the district will have to make in the coming school year.
The survey focuses on the four main topics addressed in each of the community budget forums: transportation, athletics and extra-curricular activities, four-day school week and possible school closures/boundary adjustments. Community members will also have a place where they can express any and all ideas about ways the District can reduce next year’s budget.
To take the survey, visit www.d51schools.org and click on the “Budget Survey” button at the bottom of the screen. A direct link for media is provided here. The survey will be open through Friday, March 30, 2012.
Community members with questions about the district’s budget can visit www.d51schools.org/budget to stay up-to-date with the process and submit questions and comments.
