The Big Picture High School and the Phoenix Program raise funds & awareness for Equine Assisted Learning

Imagine it, it’s true! Horses empowering people to improve skills with communication, goal setting, leadership, personal insight, curricular connections….the list goes on! The Big Picture School staff and students have partnered with The Phoenix Program to raise funds and awareness for equine assisted learning. We need to help provide this powerful learning environment and experience to more students this spring and next school year through this
outstanding program with Therapeutic Experiences.

Therapeutic Experiences (TherEx), an Equine Assisted Learning and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy company based in Durango, CO, offers experiential therapy and skills-learning programs designed for young people, couples, and families. Their horses can be used as a basic part of elementary school through high school curricula which teach character values to students, especially those considered “at-risk”.

Local artist Robin Caspari has donated a limited edition gicleé print, “Contenders”, that will go to one lucky winner announced on the evening of March 17th. Many other community partners are stepping up to offer their support and sponsorship, including Branding Promotions, Therapeutic Experiences, and the Irish Embassy Pub. In addition to the grand prize of Caspari’s print, the Irish Embassy Pub is contributing ten other prizes, including a Guinness snowboard. The drawing will be held downstairs at the Irish Embassy from 4-7pm on St. Patrick’s Day. Be sure to wear green and perhaps the luck of the Irish will be on your side!

Please support the effort to EMPOWER LOCAL STUDENTS with this opportunity to nurture academic, social, and emotional growth. Enter to win!!! ($5.00 per adoption fee for a magnet and drawing ticket). To enter, please contact Hallie Whitney (Phoenix Program) at 382–0564 or Dreher Robertson (The Big Picture School) at 259-0203.
